This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second Asia Information Retrieval Symposium, AIRS 2005, held in Jeju Island, Korea, in October 2005. The 32 revised full papers and 36 revised poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 136 papers submitted.
